About me

As you can probably guess, my name’s Faye. Welcome to my website. I can talk about the magic of yoga for hours, but I’ll try to keep my story brief…

Like many people, I came to yoga looking for a new way to work out. It was 2012 and I was an English Literature student partying every weekend and living above an Indian takeaway shop. I found a free video on Youtube and wobbled through the poses in my pyjamas. ‘This is pretty good,’ I thought, and it soon became part of my weekly routine.

A couple of years later I attended my first in-person class. It was held in a packed out community centre just off Clapham High Street. About thirty of us moved and breathed together and it felt like pure magic. The teacher incorporated breathwork, meditation and an extra long savasana. It opened my eyes to yoga as a spiritual practice – so much more than just asana (the physical poses). I was hooked.

Fast forward to 2020 and, like the rest of the world, I was stuck at home. Yoga became a daily practice – a necessary ritual. With so much anxiety and uncertainty in the world, yoga gave me stability, a clearer mind and an ability to find some inner peace. I started to read yogic texts and learn more about this ancient practice. The more I learnt, the more I wanted to learn, and I felt a calling to deepen my knowledge and share the power of yoga with the people around me. Becoming a yoga teacher was written in the stars.

In 2023 I began my teacher training in London. I gave up my evenings and weekends for four months to become a qualified Vinyasa, Hatha and hot yoga teacher and I loved every minute of it. I began to teach classes in London, blending asana, breathwork and meditation with my love of storytelling and traditional yogic teachings.

After taking a break from teaching to have my little girl, Celeste, and to relocate to South Leicestershire, my practice changed and morphed into something different once more. Something kinder, softer and more intuitive.

Whatever changes and challenges arise in my life, I know that yoga will always be a grounding presence, bringing me right back down to the earth.
